John Frederick "Fred" Fish, age 77, passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 7, 2002 at his residence following an extended illness. Fred was born on June 15, 1925 the son of Oscar and Naomi Fish. He served in the Army in World War II. He attended Dakota Bible College. Fred married Martha Gamon on Aug. 10, 1958 in Grinnell, Iowa. He served in ministry in South Dakota, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois and Oklahoma. He was a member of the College Heights Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; his son David Fish of Joplin; his daughters, Melody Voss of Sherman, Ill., and Jacque Gage of Lamar, Mo.; two sisters, Doris Witmer of Moberly, Mo. and Pauline Hertzberg of Brandon, Iowa; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at College Heights Christian Church. David Fish and Randy Gariss will officiate. There will be a visitation Tuesday at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary from 6 till 8 p.m. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary, Joplin.
